April was the ultimate bounce back month! March definitely had me in my feelings emo… watching the portfolio take that kind of hit was mentally rough. But then April showed up like an absolute boss!
The market basically handed back everything I lost last month… and then some. We’re talking $10k+ above the March drawdown, which honestly felt surreal after how ugly things looked only weeks earlier. This is exactly why I stayed invested and continued buying during the dip. The funny thing about investing is that the worst moments emotionally are often the moments that matter the most long term. Easy to say in hindsight of course… Either way, a huge recovery month and definitely a reminder of how quickly sentiment can flip.
Superfund – SMSF
Balance: $266,134.03 (up $15,255.65)
Comment: A massive rebound this month as markets recovered strongly. I also topped up BEMG with $4k before EOFY, continuing to slowly build my emerging markets allocation.
Long-Term ETF – NAB Equity Builder
Balance: $188,809.55 (up $18,847.46)
Debt: ~$95,100
Equity: ~$93,700
Comment: Leverage feels painful on the way down… but very nice on the way back up! This account recovered aggressively alongside the broader market rally.
Wifey Portfolio – Betashares Direct + Tiger
Balance: $138,747.73 (up $6,986.62)
Comment: The old Tiger portfolio structure was starting to get a bit messy, so going forward I’ll likely consolidate these two brokerages together under the Wifey Portfolio banner. I guess that’s an early Mother’s Day present!
School Fee Portfolio – Moomoo
Comment: Planning to revive the Moomoo account as the foundation for the new bub’s education fund portfolio. Still setting things up at the moment, but it should be ready to properly kick off next month!
