Another month goes by, August was all about staying the course with my regular contributions while waiting for the tax return to hit (still pending from the ATO, super excited as I am expecting a decent return!). At the same time, my mind has been occupied with two things: getting the Melbourne investment property sorted and then setting up my SMSF. On top of that, I’ve enjoyed connecting with more passionate personal finance readers through my red note posts—it’s been great meeting others who care about the same journey.
Superfund – Hostplus
Balance: $223,128 (up $5,907)
Portfolio change: With the well known “September effect” around the corner (bearish) and my SMSF transition coming up, I’ve shifted my allocation into a more conservative indexed capital stable option. I’ll likely leave it untouched from here until the SMSF is up and running.
Options Trading – Moomoo
Balance: $8,136 (up $473)
Comment: Nothing much to say here, a lot of trades for not much profit!
Passive ETF – Fundlater
Balance: $11,301 (up $234)
Debt: $3,300 | Monthly repayment: $325
Long-Term ETF – NAB Equity Builder
Balance: $176,319 (up $474)
Debt: $102,151 | Equity: ~$74,100| Monthly repayment: ~$1500 (around $600 is interest and rest goes to equity)
Wifey Portfolio – Betashares Direct
Balance: $64,268 (up $2,558)
Comment: Regular DCA of $1,000 every fortnight from salary. Interestingly, this portfolio has now outperformed my NAB Equity Builder which is something I didn’t expect!
Wifey Portfolio – Stake
Balance: $30,475 (down $149)
Moves: No major actions this month, August brought in a dividend of $200.27, which is always nice to see.
Total Portfolio Summary
Gross Funds: $513,600
Net Equity: $408,175
This Month’s Growth: +$9,497
The journey continues, one brick at a time but i can feel the compounding effect come through!
