Happy new year! A very belated one as I completely forgot to write the December blog thanks to the holiday season and spending way too much time creating content for Red Note.
Performance wise, December was… uneventful. The portfolio moved a grand total of –$24.57 compared to November. Basically flat, which honestly is perfectly fine for me. Tech stocks were particularly weak throughout the month, dragging down my international equity exposure. Crypto didn’t help either, both Bitcoin and Ethereum had a soft finish to the year.
That said, my personal investment portfolio finished the year up 16.80%, which equals roughly +$47.8k , made up of $42k in capital gains and $5.8k in income. No complaints at all. I’ll happily take that result and roll into the new year strong!
Superfund – SMSF
Balance: $247,582.74 (down $535.26)
Comment: A small pullback this month, largely driven by global equity weakness. No changes made , fully invested and letting the long-term plan do its thing. SMSF is now properly set up and running!
Long-Term ETF – NAB Equity Builder
Balance: $186,287.08 (down $585.92)
Debt: ~$98,600
Equity: ~$87,600
Monthly repayment: ~$1,500 (approx. $600 interest, rest equity)
Options Trading – Moomoo
Balance: $3,861.87 (up $198.87)
Comment: A small bounce back after last month’s pain! Nothing major.
Wifey Portfolio – Betashares Direct
Balance: $82,064.28 (up $633.28)
Comment: EOY tidy up to keep allocations aligned. Added EETH, IBTC, VHY, DHHF, GLIN, and DRGN this month so the portfolio enters the new year nicely balanced.
Wifey Portfolio – Stake
Balance: $29,985.32 (up $150.41)
Comment: Generated $189 in cashflow for the month.
School Fee Portfolio – Tiger
Balance: $22,337.86 (up $114.05)
Comment: Slow and steady progress. This portfolio is still in its early days, with a long runway ahead. Monthly contributions will continue and compounding can do the heavy lifting over time.
